Distinguishing Features of The Class:

This position requires the formulation of policies and procedures, budget development, administration, supervision and coordination of Recruitment, Admissions, Call Center Operations, Placement Testing, Registration and Financial Aid. This position reports to Executive Vice President of Student Affairs. General or direct supervision is exercised over other administrators in a lower class. Does related work as required


Typical Work Activities:
  • Formulates policies and procedures for assigned student services divisions;
  • Prepares annual budget for assigned student service areas and submits the budget to the Executive Vice President of Student Affairs for review;
  • Recruitment, enrollment, retention and graduation of students
  • Develop a territory and prospect management plan
  • Keen understanding of changing demographics, shrinking budgets and increased accountability for student outcomes
  • Provide professional leadership in the analysis of national, state and county population trends
  • Provides visionary leadership for all admission programs
  • Develop and implement plans to manage all prospecting, recruiting and student communications
  • Assist in the development of the student recruitment marketing plan(s)
  • Work closely with others within the College to support the college’s enrollment goals
  • Work closely with representatives from all departments that influence student enrollment and retention, especially Financial Aid to understand strategy, policy and awarding processes       
  • Develop and maintain close relationships with key secondary constituents
  • Participates in the Enrollment Management Committee chaired by the Executive Vice President of Student Affairs;
  • Develop and monitor statistical reports to enhance recruitment strategies, yield management, forecasting and ; operational efficiency
  • Determines how external factors relate to academic programs and the faculty
  • Collaborate with the Athletic Director in the admission of Student Athletes
  • Ability to work with culturally diverse populations and be involved as a leader in the community
  • Ability to cultivate and develop innovative ideas for recruitment strategies, including international students
  • Manage the evaluation of admission applications
  • Conduct continual evaluation  of the internal admission processes by reviewing and conducting application research
  • Supervise and manage support staff
  • Conducts regular staff meetings
  • Assists the Executive Vice President of Student Affairs in fulfilling collaborative Student Affairs duties and responsibilities as assigned

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

Possess a keen understanding of current trends impacting enrollment; demonstrated competency for analyzing recruitment related data and assessing programming activities as part of a strategic enrollment planning initiative; possess an understanding of the innovative uses of technologies in the recruitment process; experience working with diverse populations; possess strong skills in team development, community building, relationship building and problem solving; initiative and resourcefulness; physically capable of performing the essential functions of the position with or without reasonable accommodations; 3-5 years of sales and marketing skills in the education field; 3-5 years supervisory skills.


Minimum Qualifications:

A. Graduation from an accredited college or university with a Doctorate in Education or Student Personnel Services or related field and five (5) years of experience in enrollment management, three (3) years of which must have been in a responsible educational administrative or supervisory capacity. Must possess superior interpersonal and public speaking skills and knowledge of marketing methods.

 Graduation from an accredited college or university with a Master's degree in Education or Student Personnel Services or related field and seven (7) years of experience in Student Services/Student Development/Student Affairs, three (3) years of which must have been in a responsible educational administrative or supervisory capacity. Must possess superior interpersonal and public speaking skills and knowledge of marketing methods.

NOTE: Verifiable part-time and/or volunteer experience will be pro-rated toward meeting full-time experience requirements.
